Central Library Collaborative Spaces - Saturday, February 24th

All three collaborative spaces at the Central Library will be unavailable all day on Saturday, February 24th. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Service Disruption - Dr Nelson F Tomlinson Community Centre (Claremont Library)

Renovation work for accessibility improvements will begin Monday, February 12 and will temporarily impact access to the library drop-box. Temporary access to the building will also be redirected through the door between the gym and fire station while renovation work is underway in front of the main doors. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Reduced hours for iHelp desk services

The iHelp desk will be operating with reduced hours from Mon. Jan. 29 until Fri. Feb. 16. From Monday to Friday the desk will be staffed from 4 PM - 9 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM - 5 PM, Sundays from 1 PM - 5 PM. Other library staff are available to assist with technology questions during this time. On Monday Feb. 19 the desk will re-open with full hours in our new Maker Space.

Beginning December 2017 to the Spring of 2018, the Pickering Public Library’s new Maker Space will emerge. This will be a great space to collaborate, experiment, and bring your ideas to life.

Here are just a few of the things that you will be able to do:

  • Create a podcast or record your music in the new sound booth
  • Design a 3D object and print it
  • Design and sew your prom dress
  • Create wood and plastic projects using our Carvey
  • Print over-sized photos and posters
  • And more!

View documents, images, and newspapers which tell the story of Pickering from its earliest people to today’s growing City. The collection contains books, photographs, maps, newspapers, family histories, and much more.

Kanopy's collection includes thousands of award-winning documentaries, world cinema, and theatrical releases.
